Theory

Music theory can be a daunting concept when you’ve never set foot on the journey of learning. The thing is, you probably know more music theory than you think you do.

My preferred approach to teaching music theory anchors on instrumental knowledge – exploring melody, harmony or rhythm through playing them. Physically hearing & understanding how concepts work, and how to play them on your instrument is invaluable.

In my opinion as a multi-instrumentalist, the bass guitar is the most suitable instrument for learning music theory. If you are looking to learn, I would highly recommend investing in a cheap bass.

Lessons can be tailored to theory grades, specific areas of interest, preparing you for degree level/ conservatoire study or more general and widely applicable theory.
