Here it is; ‘Tazer’ from Age Of Empires II! Having transcribed Tazer a long time ago, it’s taken me a while to get my viola/violin skills up to scratch (as well as to record all the other parts, mix & master, and edit the video!).

Things have been busy recently with work and other distractions (including this shiny new Saxophone!), so here’s a Chris Isaak tune I’ve been working on to practice the basics – it’s more difficult than I expected! You nerds will be happy to hear I’ve sorted a percussionist for the next tune and have a few transcriptions on the go; the question is Smells Like Crickets or Bass Bag next?!
First of all, a massive thank you to all of you for helping me reach 1K! It’s been a little bit of a difficult time recently but I’ve had this in the pipeline for a while now – I’m glad you lot give me the motivation to keep myself busy ♥ This project is part of an idea to inspire people into Folk music through adapting contemporary repertoire (especially from Rock & Metal) – the East Anglian Traditional Music Trust have said they’d like to feature some music and an article in September which would be awesome! Even if you’re not into Folk music I hope you can enjoy this classic tune adapted to the into the style. Especially the Glockenspiel solo at 02:38 😂
You asked for it, here’s Smells Like Crickets, Tastes Like Chicken from Age Of Empires II! This time I’ve enlisted the help of Arpit Manaktala on the Tabla as that’s an instrument I’ve never played (your donations made this possible!) I think he’s done a great job, and I enjoyed getting my homemade Mushroom Harp, biscuit tin Banjo, and PVC flutes involved too 😎 Let me know which tracks you’d like to hear next!
Here’s a tune I’ve been making a backing track for, to help one of my brilliant students help build up their portfolio. Then I thought – why not add my own melody part and make a video out of it!
